What is toon sauce?

Toon sauce is a popular Chinese and Southeast Asian sauce made of leaves from Chinese Toon Trees (also known as Toona Sinensis, Chinese Mahogany, Chinese Cedar, and Beef and Onion Plant). The young, soft leaves from Chinese Toon Trees are used as vegetables/herbs and have a savory flavor reminiscent of beef and onions. With the addition of mushrooms, our Vegan Mushroom Toon Sauce brings an extra bold layer of umami to all of your dishes.

Fantastic! I always taste ingredients and spoce blends on their own before I think of how to use them in cooking and right out of the jar, this tastes like fatty beef and caramelized onions. It's pretty wild.

I didn't have super high hopes for an order that started with a Facebook ad, but both the floss and the toon sauce I ordered are absolutely fantastic.
